“Amy’s book is a must-read for parents and children of all ages. My thirteen year old and I had some meaningful discussions after she read it. I know that many families would appreciate the chance to talk about identity with their children and this book is a fun way to do it.” - Sue D., public school teacher

“Life changing!” - Amy H., mother of four

The King’s Gift was a great read-aloud for our family (kids ages 9, 11, 14 and 16). Not only was it an engaging allegory, the illustrations are beautiful and captured the kids attention and admiration. I was unsure about reading a book on this topic with younger kids, and I was very happy to find that it was easily and appropriately digestible for the varied levels.  This is the power of great story, there are so many different lessons to learn and so many ages that can be engaged.  While my eldest realized it was a story about gender identity and God’s purposed design, my middle kids only saw it as a story about identity and God’s love, and my youngest saw it as a story about the King’s love.  Similar to ‘small questions, small answers,’ I feel like this book approaches a hard topic in ways that are palatable for all ages and where the main take away is that all were created by Love and for Love.” - Christy P., director of a private homeschool academy

“Absolutely supernaturally touched. I have never read or seen a book like this before. I went through an experience reading this book - an experience I treasure in my heart. Something about the images is absolutely shame-shattering.” - Alea G., mother of four

“Such a timely message. I’m really thankful for the clarity it brought around a complex topic. The illustrations were beautiful. The book sparked curiosity in my children (ages 4 and 6) and I loved the questions that came out of their mouths. It made for a really authentic opportunity to process identity with them. I also saw my kids fascinated with who God is and what heaven is going to be like. Thank you for this book. I’m full of gratitude.” -Kat P., mother of three

“I was like tearing up at every page. It’s so good. I can’t wait to read it like a thousand more times. I feel like there’s a lot to soak in. It’s really deep.” - Bre L., gen Z

“This is an incredible depiction of a perfect love and a hope of identity that everyone truly longs for. Beautiful illustrations. Although it’s a children’s book, the depth of meaning and truth throughout the story speaks to people of all ages.”  - Jessica Z.

“Amy has such a gift bringing the truth of God’s promises to life. The King’s Gift draws readers of all ages into a story we can all relate to on some level … the pull towards the light of truth or the darkness of a lie. Her book was the door to several purposeful conversations with my 8-year old daughter.” - Kari R.

“I am so excited to see a courageous, faith-filled woman reaching out to so many moms, dads, and children with this powerful story of God's love for every person and the incredibly profound truth that He made us in his image, and male and female he created us. Your lavish words, illustrations and storytelling give us a sweet taste of His Heavenly Father love and His Kingship over us all, along with His incredible patience, love, and enduring invitation to come and discover the abundant, true life and identity He has for each and every one of us. I'm also impressed by your artistic beauty (!) and power of words. Your metaphors are thought-provoking and stirring for us adults, even as we read the story with and for our children. I am so encouraged and inspired by Amy’s bold and loving treatment of this incredibly important subject matter!!!” - Jennifer M., director of an international children’s ministry

“I got chills throughout the story and I was overwhelmed by the Father’s love for the children! Beautiful story!” - Adri L., school teacher and mother of three
