Boys and Girls
Physically speaking, men are designed with the exclusive privilege of initiating/imparting life, while women are designed with the exclusive privilege of carrying/ nurturing life. Men are endowed with the gift of strength (just consult the Olympic record charts), while women are endowed with the gift of beauty (just ask any man).
Spiritually speaking, however: “There is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28) A Christian (whether male or female), is both a “son of God” who is endowed with strength and dressed in the armor of God (Ephesians 6); and at the same time, he or she is a part of the “bride of Christ,” dressed in beautiful garments of righteousness and having neither “spot nor wrinkle.” (Ephesians 5)
And finally, a note about personal style: Being a girl or boy ultimately has nothing to do with what you wear or the way you do your hair, but about the body you were given by a good Maker. Not all girls like pink princess dresses, but physical beauty (and the power to nurture life) IS God’s gift to girls. Not all boys dress like ninjas, but physical strength (and the power to impart/ initiate life) IS God’s gift to boys.
